Monday-Aug 21- In class I checked to make sure that the students used flags to mark the important details of Ch. 12. This was an assignment from the week of Aug. 14 and I had several students that did not do this. Also, if your child is absent from school, he/she must get their makeup work. Telling me that they were absent on the day of my assignment is not an excuse for not having the work done. My homework is posted on the board all week and there is a team website as well.
We wrote a response to events of Ch 12 in class as well as completed a venn diagram of "Shrouded in Myth" and "Cronus"-detailed the mythological elements as well as plot details. This information that we are collecting will be used at a later date for another assignment.
Homework-Read chapters 13-14...flag any important details from the story.
In class-we discussed broadening our depth of knowledge through the text(s) that we are reading in conjunction with The Lightning Thief. We discussed the emerging theme as well as pivotal moments in the story to help identify why and how it changes the plot of the story.

The students worked in groups of 2/3 and discussed chapters 13 and 14 of "PJ-TLT". We reviewed the parts in the story that were pivotal and the students did a graphic representation along with the quote and why.
