Warm Up: None Monday, November 21: Complete vocabulary activity for each Byzantine Empire term. You can write your own definition, use the term in a sentence, come up with a synonym or draw a picture. The choice is yours. Vocabulary will be checked on Wednesday, so if you will not be here that day, please show me on Tuesday. In Class Today: Students will learn about the end of the Byzantine Empire. Warm Up: None. Wednesday, November 16: Center work is due on Friday. In Class Today: Students will review the fall of the Roman Empire. They will analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the geography of the city of Constantinople. They will work on their centers for any remaining class time. Warm Up: Read and annotate the article on Constantinople. Thursday, November 17: Center work is due tomorrow. Make sure each center is labeled with the number; they should be in order; the guidelines sheet should be included, and they should be attached in some way (staple, paper clip or folder). In Class Today: Students will learn about the rule of Justinian and Theodora over the Byzantine Empire. They will analyze Justinian's Code. Warm Up: None. Friday, November 18: None. In Class Today: Students will learn about how religion developed in the Byzantine Empire. They will compare Orthodox Christianity to Roman Catholic Christianity. Warm Up: Turn in center work.
