In Class Today: Students will learn about the ancient Chinese philosophies of Confucianism, Taoism, and Legalism. They will explore the impact that these philosophies had on the political structures of ancient China. Warm Up: Quote analysis. Tuesday, January 30: Work on your Infographic. In Class Today: Students will review Pericles' Funeral Oration. They will compare this primary document to excerpts from Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. In Class Today: Students will review the types of government we learned about last week. We will have a "refresher course" on the government of the United States, reviewing the levels and branches. In Class Today: Students will develop a definition of the term citizen. They will discuss and explore the requirements, rights and responsibilities of citizens. Warm Up: None. They will make modern day connections by examining scenarios and choosing an appropriate form of infrastructure for each.
