In Class Today: Students will use maps to analyze the geography of Japan. They will learn about Japan's unique geographic features and the poetry form, the haiku. They will write their own haiku reflecting what they have learned about Japan's geography. Warm Up: Poetry Analysis Tuesday, May 16: Finish the Japan Geography Worksheet. In Class Today: Students will review the impact of geography on the daily lives of those living in Japan. They will complete a literacy sheet on Japan's geography. Warm Up: Gallery walk to share haiku poems. Wednesday, May 17: No homework. In Class Today: Students will learn about the influence that China has had throughout history on Japan and Korea. Warm Up: How does geography impact life in Japan? Thursday, May 18: Finish samurai worksheet. In Class Today: Students will review the Middle Ages feudal system. They will learn about the feudal system in Japan and compare and contrast both social hierarchies. Warm Up: What do you remember about Europe's feudal system? Friday, May 19: No homework.
