Class: We went over the 6th grade Science Common Core Curriculum. Students collaborated in their groups --"What are characteristics of a safe classroom?" We discussed their answers and went over some of the classroom expectations and procedures. We started setting up our Science notebooks.
HOMEWORK: Get your Science Welcome Letter (page 1 in your notebook) signed tonight. Read over the Science Guidelines and Expectations.

Homework: Bring your booklet to class tomorrow. We will finish it in class. Test on Space will be Wednesday, June 6 Tues Class: went over causes of tides, spring tides, neap tides / worked on practice tests for NCFE / complete test corrections
Tues HW---finish both practice tests and finish test corrections Wed Class: finished working on practice test corrections and worked on International Space Station assignment in Google Classroom Wed HW: review for NCFE if you are not feeling confident---use BrainPop, red book, Google Classroom etc. Fri class: students learned what causes moon phases and they worked on their booklet
Fri HW: Make sure you finish your Practice NCFE #1 / Make sure you finish booklet pages 13, 14, 15 on moon phases Mon 5/21 Class: students learned about the causes of high and low tides as well as spring and neap tides. Monday 5/21 HOMEWORK: 1. Make sure you finish Practice Test # 1 for NCFE (in Google Classroom). Almost everyone finished this last Wednesday. 2. Make sure you finish booklet pages 9, 10, 11 regarding TIDES. 3. Complete questions 1-20 on Practice Test # 2 for NCFE in Schoolnet (Homebase). Mon Class: see Google Classroom / What causes seasons?
Mon HW: Finish Seasons worksheet and seasons in your booklet Tues Class: What causes solstices and equinoxes? Tues HOMEWORK: work on Solstices and Equinoxes in your booklet / finish practice NCFE Wed: No school Thurs Class: What causes solstices and equinoxes? / What causes solar and lunar eclipses? What causes full moon and new moon? Class: learned about inertia and gravity and why planets stay in orbit and keep rotating / students also learned about space spinoffs / students worked on pages 17 and 18 of their booklets. Students turned in their solar system charts.
HOMEWORK: None if you have been keeping up with your work in class.
