Monday, April 16: Finish "Decline of Civilizations" Google Classroom activity.
In Class Today: Students will brainstorm economic, political and geographic reasons why civilizations would fall. They will learn vocabulary such as decline, invasion, conquest, and migration. They will complete an activity in Google Classroom that examines the fall of Mesopotamia, Mali, and Songhai. Warm Up: Group brainstorming activity. Tuesday, April 17: There will be a quiz next Tuesday on Social Structures and the Decline of Civilizations. Study your composition book. In Class Today: Students will complete an annotation and poster activity on the fall of Ancient Rome. Warm Up: Read and annotate the fall of Rome article. Wednesday, April 18: Study the Social Structures and Decline of Civilizations sections of your composition book. In Class Today: Students will learn more about the fall of ancient Rome. They will participate in a poster analysis and gallery walk. Groups will have the opportunity to revise their posters after getting feedback from other students. Warm Up: Fall of Rome document based questions. Thursday, April 19: None. In Class Today: Students will learn about Alexander the Great by completing a SAS activity. Warm Up: What lessons can the US learn from the fall of ancient Rome? Friday, April 20: Finish your Alexander the Great paragraph.
