In Class Today: Students will learn about the ancient Chinese philosophies of Confucianism, Taoism, and Legalism. They will explore the impact that these philosophies had on the political structures of ancient China. Warm Up: Quote analysis. Tuesday, January 30: Work on your Infographic. They will read an excerpt from Pericles' Funeral Oration. Warm Up: Athens/Sparta reading and Venn diagram. Wednesday, January 31: Finish your RAFT paper. In Class Today: Students will review Pericles' Funeral Oration. They will compare this primary document to excerpts from Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. They will write a creative piece about the two speeches. Warm Up: Review Pericles' Funeral Oration. Thursday, February 1: Finish the Hammurabi's Code/Bill of Rights worksheet. In Class Today: Students will learn about Hammurabi's Code and the impact it had on legal systems in ancient Mesopotamia. Warm Up: Quote Analysis. Friday, February 2: Infographic is due on Monday.
