Monday, November 6: Watch the Brain Pop on the Olympics. On a piece of notebook paper create a Venn Diagram comparing the ancient Olympics to the modern day Olympics. Access Brain Pop on the West Lake site under Student Links. Username is wlms. The password is westlake. Click on Social Studies, then Culture, then Olympics. In Class Today: Students will explore different forms of ancient Roman entertainment. They will compare these activities to modern day entertainment. Warm Up: None. Tuesday, November 7: Finish the literature samples worksheet. In Class Today: Students will learn about the history of writing in the ancient world. They will explore excerpts from well known ancient texts. Warm Up: African proverbs analysis Wednesday, November 8: No homework. In Class Today: Students will read African folk tales. They will develop and act out a skit for one of the tales. Warm Up: How can literature reflect the values of a civilization? Thursday, November 9: Field trip today!! Be at school by 6:30 AM.
