In Class Today: Students will learn about the ancient civilization of Kush. They will read a primary document and do a writing assignment. Warm Up: What are the geographic features of place for ancient Egypt? Tuesday, January 24: Kush paragraph is due tomorrow. In Class Today: Students will learn about the importance of the gold/salt trade in ancient Africa. They will continue working on their Kush paragraph. Warm Up: How might the economy of ancient Africa be impacted by geography? Wednesday, January 25: None. In Class Today: Students will learn about Mansa Musa and his impact on ancient Africa. Warm Up: Picture Analysis activity. Thursday, January 26: Mansa Musa cartoon is due tomorrow. In Class Today: Students will complete a SAS Curriculum Pathways activity on the ancient city of Timbuktu. Warm Up: None. Friday, January 27: No homework. In Class Today: Students will learn about the importance of proverbs and story telling in ancient African culture. They will read a folktale and perform a skit for the class. Warm Up: None.
